Very young host team with a lot of heart ? at work, friendly, attentive and dedicated. Food is mother's way, very tasty, rich and good! We feel good and would like to come back. Good luck in the corona hysteria. You can do that!

Gasthaus Pilling can be recommended without reservation. The decor in the main room is very rustic and cozy. The dishes range from Westphalian classics such as Potthucke to fantastic schnitzel (veggie also possible) and burgers. There are always changing types of beer on offer and in the current Corona situation there is also the possibility of ordering food outside the home. Tip: make a reservation at the weekend in order not to be disappointed, it is usually very crowded and when you stand there and smell the fantastic smells from the kitchen, it is all the more annoying when you have to leave :)

So that's really nice: Quaint inn, cozy inside and a lot of patina but without gammel. It's great to sit there. The service is very friendly, the menu is traditionally middle-class with a lot of reference to traditional regional cuisine. What then arrives on the plate is plentiful and tasty. We felt very comfortable with 4 people after a long bike ride. thank you very much

We sat with 8 people for dinner in the beer garden - everyone enjoyed it wonderful. The vegetable pans were freshly prepared and really tasty and all other dishes were also convincing. Thank you for the friendly and attentive service. We would love to come back

Nice old pub with rustic furnishings and a small but fine beer garden. Personnel super nice and the food was delicious. Here you can taste that the sauces are made by yourself. It's great that typical Westphalian dishes are also served here, e.g. Potthucke, Krüstchen, etc. German cuisine and still burgers or veggies. Really great, we're going there more often from now on. Keep it up. If you go there, have a try the Altena local drink "Knickebein".

An incredibly cozy ambience in these historic walls! Very friendly hosts, really delicious food. I felt my first little crumb today after half a century. And it was rich, opulent, lush. I was really comfortably full! I will definitely go there more than once when I am back in Altena.

This restaurant is the oldest and most traditional in Altena if not in North Rhine-Westphalia. There is still traditional Westphalian food here, the portions are plentiful and it tastes wonderful. Everything is freshly prepared and the five minutes that you have to wait longer are a pleasure. We enjoyed it very much and we will definitely be back.

Historic restaurant that you should definitely visit. Even a larger group can easily find space here. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. We would love to come back.
